Meet Thelma Tun-Thein, RDN, IBCLC
My training is as an IBCLC and a registered Dietitian/nutritionist, specializing in maternal and infant nutrition. I have worked as an IBCLC and dietitian in various roles, including clinical, community, academic and private practice, both in the United States and internationally.
Over the years, my practice has changed and previous work with mothers has moved the last couple of years into a Virtual helping practice. Many thousands of hours of experience has given me a new way to focus on helping mothers directly.
My belief is that health and wellness need a holistic, individualized approach which suits every mother/infant/family and requires attention to physical, mental and social-emotional health needs.
I've observed that it’s most helpful to get the information and knowledge about breastfeeding during pregnancy and get the support as soon as your infant arrives. Having the caring support of both family and lactation consultants will make it easier for you and your infant to achieve your plan.
Let’s work together so that you are informed and supported with your concerns regarding breastfeeding. My goal is making certain your baby is the happiest, healthiest and strongest in every way.

My life-long passion has been for all infants to receive breast/human milk and to help mothers, fathers, and families breastfeed their infants and achieve their desired goals. So many families have given me the opportunity to help and support them to provide the best nutrition and health for their infants.
Breastfeeding provides so many preventive health benefits for mothers and infants. Years from now, both mom and baby can be the healthiest as you intend. Breastfeeding is biologically “natural” but mothers/infants can best do this “natural thing” with caring and patient support and useful, reliable information.
A most heart-warming sight is for me to see the new parents bond with their babies in their own special breastfeeding journey. I also had to overcome family saying that breastfeeding was “not necessary” but have also been able to help my clients, my own daughter, my nieces and other family members/friends reach their breastfeeding goals. I am a proud mother of three children and two grandchildren, who were all breastfed.
